The University of Ghana has announced plans to officially name the recreational quadrangle located behind Balme Library after a former member of the University Council, Mr. Samuel Kenneth Aboah.

Mr. Aboah served on the University Council from 2001 to 2008 and generously financed the construction of the quadrangle, as well as the planting of teak trees on the top of Legon Hill, stretching from the front of the School of Graduate Studies to the Registry.

To mark the 10th anniversary of Mr. Aboah’s passing, a formal ceremony will be held on Tuesday, April 18th, 2023 at 4:00 p.m. at the Recreational Quadrangle, behind Balme Library. The event will be open to all members of the University community.

The naming of the quadrangle after Mr. Aboah is a fitting tribute to a man who made significant contributions to the development of the University of Ghana.
