UG: Snr Lecturer, Steve Ahiawordor reportedly dies from illness

Senior Lecturer at the University of Ghana Political Science Department, Prof. Steve Kofi Mensah Ahiawordor has been confirmed dead following reports of an illness.

His family is set to release an official announcement on his passing in due time.

The news of his passing was revealed from sources close to him; it was reported that he suffered from an undisclosed illness before eventually kicking the bucket.

Prof. Ahiawordor was previously a subject of false claims of his death back in 2018, which was debunked by sources close to him.

His passing comes as a shock to many; he was serving as a senior lecturer at the political science department as at the time of his demise.

Prof. Steve Ahiawordor was a lawyer with a strong affiliation to the opposing National Democratic Congress (NDC) political party.

Prof. Ahiawordor was also known for being a board member of the National Health Insurance Authority, (NHIA) under the late Atta Mills administration, later joining the board at the Bulk Oil Storage and Transport Company (BOST) under the administration of the former President, John Mahama.

Specializing in foreign policy, his research works were also divulged in Ghana’s political sphere, with special focus on presidential and primary elections over the past few years.
