The Junior common room executives of the Alexander Adum Kwapong Hall have initiated a welfare project to enhance the living conditions of residents.

The project, which commenced on Friday, April 6th, includes the procurement of 12 new fans, capacitors, 7 first aid boxes, materials to refurbish the Muslim Community’s worshipping place, and 5 new sets of drying lines in the quadrangle.

Speaking at a Parliamentary sitting on Friday, April 6, 2023, the JCR President, Samuel Ackom says the welfare project is one of many to be initiated by his administration to enhance the living conditions of residents.

“I would want to inform the House that this is just the beginning of many things, The administration has also procured 5 new sets of drying poles and drying lines. And so if you go to the, you also see it down there coming into the next semester. I promise that before you come back within two weeks, you will see a couple of other developmental projects as well.”

He also listed some items his team has been able to procure and some projects that have been started.

“We have engaged the leadership of the Muslim community to see how best the JCR can support them, especially now that they are having their Ramadan and so the JCR procured items. We are looking to refurbish their worshipping place and I’m pretty sure when the work is done, pictures will be around for you to see the before and aftermath of the place. Then again, we also received complains about functioning fans… so the administration has procured 12 fans which are going to be fixed into such rooms that do not have fans or have faulty ones… For the spoilt fans, It is a capacitor that is a fault so we will let the electrician get those things also done.

… The administration also saw the need to procure first aid boxes to address the midnight challenges of looking for medicine and so we have also as part of the welfare projects procured 7 First aid boxes, a health expert will soon come and teach the floor reps how it will be used.” He added
