The General Assembly of the University of Ghana Students’ Representative Council (UGSRC), in accordance with Article 33(2) of the UGSRC Constitution, has announced the formation of a seven-member vetting committee for the upcoming appointment of electoral commissioners.
The committee was constituted during a General Assembly sitting held on Sunday, June 29, 2025.
As stated in Article 33(2) of the UGSRC Constitution:
“The Electoral Commissioner and two Deputy Commissioners shall be appointed by the General Assembly after a vetting conducted by a seven (7) member committee set up by the General Assembly, which vetting shall be held in the presence of, but without the participation of the General Assembly, at the second sitting of the same.”
The newly constituted committee has been tasked with coordinating the vetting process for candidates vying for the position of Electoral Commissioner and two Deputy Electoral Commissioners. The process is expected to comply with the provisions of the UGSRC Constitution to ensure fairness and structure.
Members of the committee are as follows:
1. Micah Cudjoe – Chairperson
2. Emmanuella Djaba – Secretary
3. Affukaah Johnson – Member
4. Gabriella Sena Anikpi – Member
5. Samuel Yankey – Member
6. Kwakye Hillary Asabea – Member
7. Kumi Akwasi Aaron – Member
