President of the Finance Students and Associates (FINSA) of the University of Ghana, Favour Berta, has revealed that her top priority as president is to promote financial literacy and empower students to better manage their finances.

Speaking on the Campus Exclusive show on Radio Univers on October 2, 2025, she announced an upcoming forex trading seminar, which, according to her, will expose students to both the opportunities and risks involved in forex trading.

“Financial literacy is my top priority because we are embarking on a forex trading seminar this vacation. It will help students become aware of the risks involved in forex trading. Every investment carries risks, so we want to teach students how to identify risks, minimise them, and maximise profit,” she explained.

She also stressed that women in leadership roles inspire young girls to take up similar positions. According to her, having a female predecessor motivated her to contest, and she hopes to inspire others to follow suit.

“As a major milestone, being the second female president after my predecessor, who was also a lady, is something I’m really proud of. It shows that women can take on leadership roles. Before my predecessor, most ladies were hesitant to contest for presidential positions. But when she stepped up, it encouraged me to do the same. Now that I’m president of FINSA, I believe this role will motivate other girls who aspire to leadership positions to also go for it,” she said.
