Director of the University of Ghana Sports and Wellness Directorate, Dr. Austin Wontepaga Luguterah, has highly commended the inaugural University of Ghana Corporate Football League (UGCFL).

Since its kickoff on February 21, the tournament has delivered 16 weeks of engaging football and athletics action.

Speaking on the Sports Express show last Saturday, Dr. Luguterah stated that although it is the first edition of the tournament, the outcome has exceeded expectations.

“Initially, I would have rated it even lower, but now I’d rate it about 9. Because it is the first time we are organising it, and for us to get to this level, I would just say we have succeeded so much.

“Most often, if you are starting a fresh programme, you expect a lot of challenges. But in this case, we haven’t had issues with participation. There has been enthusiasm from day one throughout the 16 weeks. That is why I rate us a 9. Yes, I’m not hesitating to say we are 10 over 10,” he told Univers Sports.

As the UGCFL enters its final stretch, each fixture and event adds a new layer of intensity and intrigue at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium.
