The Electoral Commission of the University of Ghana Student’s Representative Council (UGSCR-EC) is set to use Ghc 74,950 to conduct the 2023 UGSRC elections.
Presenting the Budget on the floor of General Assembly at the General Assemby on July 2nd, 2023, at the University of Ghana School of Law Auditorium, the EC Public Relations Officer, Rashid Seidu mentioned that the amount was an estimate to run the election.
Some members of the General Assembly objected and asked for a reduction in the amount.
After what seemed to be an unending argument on the budget estimation, members of the House requested that the amount for sound system should be scrapped off, the amount of Ghc 800 to EC PRO should be reduced to Ghc 500.
Meanwhile, the amount for transportation has been put on hold along with software procurement and the amount for water.
It was also announced that the elections would be held online onsite, with the presence of security personnel to ensure a peaceful election.
