The Fire Service personnel at the University of Ghana Station have expressed deep gratitude for the opportunity to serve the university community as the UG Fire Station celebrated its 15th anniversary from October 21 to 23, 2025.

Marking 15 years of bravery and dedication, the University of Ghana Fire Station proudly reaffirmed its commitment to excellence in service under the theme “Celebrating Excellence and Resilient Service.”

Speaking to Univers News, some Fire Service personnel shared their excitement about reaching this important milestone.

One officer stated that serving the campus community for 15 years has been a great honor, expressing optimism about the possibilities and opportunities that lie ahead.

“It’s a great feeling to be celebrating 15 years — saving lives, protecting property, and carrying out rescues. We are very excited and hopeful for better opportunities and greater achievements ahead.”

Another expressed pride in their role, emphasizing their enthusiasm for providing these vital services, which they view as their core responsibility.

“Fifteen years of providing services to the campus and neighboring communities — we are proud to do it. It is our mandate to provide firefighting and humanitarian services as well.”

Yet another officer reflected on the journey, acknowledging the challenges faced but expressing gratitude and humility for being part of such an important mission.

“After 15 years of firefighting, we are proud of what we’ve achieved and grateful to the University of Ghana for giving us the opportunity to serve. We’ve helped fight fires both on and off campus, and this journey has truly shaped us. We are thankful and humbled to be part of it,” he affirmed.
