Head coach for Tamale City Hamza Mohammed has called on the Ghana Football Association to take stringent punitive actions against Aduana Stars following their assault on the team during a Betpawa premier league game in Dormaa.
Aduana stars are yet to find out where they would play the remainder of their home league matches after the GFA’s temporary ban on the Nana Agyemang Badu Park following a fan-led attack on tamale city players and staff.
The FA’s executive council committee will determine a venue for Aduana’s subsequent matches but Tamale city are not satisfied with the decision as they deem the sanctions inadequate to properly punish the Dormaa based club.
Disgruntled head coach of the side Hamza Mohammed has threatened reprisal attacks if authorities fail to react to the vandalization of their bus.
“We have experienced their punishment even less than a year ago from the same region. what I am saying is that if the FIFA or whatever is not done we will advise ourselves. I mean irrespective of our own they should give them the punishment they deserve. This is the second time it is happening. Our bus is spoilt the four matches[ban] or whatever will not bring our bus back unless we see a shuttle we had on our way coming back it will not happen to us again. We will not sit down for certain things to happen to us again” he warned.
The Ghana football association’s executive committee placed a ban on Aduana Stars home grounds after violent act in their league game against Tamale City.
Club officials have vehemently opposed the decision taken by the FA for the imposition of the ban and even threatened to boycott the league if the decision holds but it is unclear the next line of action the Dormaa based club will take whether to accept the ban or protest against it.
Hooliganism and vandalism in football has been condemned by stakeholders on several occasions yet there is no sign of it slowing down despite sanctions being meted out to culprits by the football governing body when it happens.
the ‘ogya’ lads are on course to winning the Betpawa premier league occupying the summit of the league table with fourty-four points after playing twenty-five games. Their bid to win the league could be hampered if the ban stands.
Meanwhile, Tamale City on the other hand are lingering at the bottom of the table occupying seventeenth position with twenty-eight points having played twenty-five games.
