The preliminary stage draw for the CAF Champions League and CAF Confederation Cup took place on Thursday, July 11, in Cairo, leaving Nsoatreman and Samartex fans hopeful of positive outcomes.

Representing Ghana, Samartex will compete in the Champions League, while Nsoatreman FC, winners of the 2023/24 MTN FA Cup, will make their debut in the CAF Confederation Cup.

The Ghanaian League Champions will face Victoria United of Cameroon in the preliminary round of the CAF Champions League. Samartex will travel to Limbe for the first-leg encounter, before returning home for the reverse fixture at the Accra Sports Stadium.

The winner of the game between Samartex and Victoria United will face either ASGNN of Niger or Moroccan giants Raja Club Athletic, in the second round in September.

On the other hand, Nsoatreman FC will lock horns with TP Elect Sports Club of Chad in the preliminary round of the CAF Confederation Cup. Nsoatreman, playing in the Confederation Cup for the first time in their history, will adopt the Baba Yara Sports Stadium as the club’s home venue for Confederation Cup games.

The club achieved this feat after their victory against Bofoakwa Tano in the MTN FA Cup final. The winner of the game between Nsoatreman and TP Elect Sports will face either Algeria’s CS Constantine or Police FC of Rwanda in the second round of the preliminary stage.

The CAF Champions League and Confederation Cup preliminary round games are expected to kick off between August 16 and August 25.
