After clinching the title of TV3 Mentor XIII winner, Romeo Swag has shown no signs of slowing down. He recently released a new single titled Blessing, produced by the celebrated, award-winning producer and CEO of Lynx Entertainment, Richie Mensah. The track not only marks a significant milestone in Romeo’s musical journey but also serves as a personal anthem of gratitude and triumph.

In an exclusive conversation with Kvng Kelly on At The DJ’s Mercy last Friday, 18th July, 2025, Romeo Swag shared his overwhelming excitement and gratitude for working with Richie on his latest single, Blessing.

“I’m not gonna lie—every time someone requests the song and I send it, and I see ‘Produced by Richie Mensah,’ I’m like, ‘Wow, you’re really crazy!’ It’s such a great feeling,” he said. “It’s actually a dream for many artists to be produced by Richie Mensah. So, shoutout to him and the entire Lynx Entertainment family. I’m truly appreciative.”

“He Gave Me Creative Freedom”

Recalling the recording session, Romeo Swag described Richie as a completely different presence in the studio compared to his role as a judge on Mentor.

“He’s actually very cool. On Mentor, he’s a tough judge, but in the studio, it’s different. He’s very welcoming. He asked me how I was feeling and what direction I wanted to go with the song,” Romeo said.

He further praised Richie’s underrated artistry:

“People know him more as a businessman running Lynx, but as a musician? Charlie—crazy talent!”

The creative process, he said, was collaborative yet liberating.

“I told him I wanted to create a ‘victory song’ after coming out of Mentor. He laid the beat, and I just poured out my heart, talking about my blessings. Richie gives artists the freedom to create. He’ll only come in later to suggest minor tweaks like ‘adjust this part a bit,’ but he leaves the main direction to you.”

Blessing as a Song of Gratitude

Romeo Swag emphasised that Blessing is more than just a post-show single—it’s a reflection of his journey and appreciation for how far he’s come.

“It’s just to show gratitude. The journey hasn’t been easy. So I took a breath, looked around, and realised—I’m truly grateful for the blessings.”

A Lynx Collab on the Horizon?

When asked whether fans should anticipate collaborations with any Lynx Entertainment artists, Romeo Swag answered with confidence:

“Right now, I’ve already collaborated with Richie. That alone opens a lot of doors. If I can work with the boss, then anything else is possible. I’m always ready for the fire—if it happens, you’ll definitely hear it!”

Romeo Swag climaxed the interview with a live performance of his song Blessing in studio.
