Prof. Robert Osei takes over as ISSER director

The Institute of Statistical, Social and Economic Research (ISSER) has announced the appointment of Prof. Robert D. Osei as its new director, effective Aug. 1, 2025.

He succeeds Prof. Peter Quartey, who served in the role for six years.

Prof. Osei, a development economist and respected academic, is an associate professor at ISSER and previously served as dean of the School of Graduate Studies at the University of Ghana. His research focuses on poverty dynamics, public finance, and social protection.

He has led and collaborated on numerous large-scale, multi-country research projects, bringing to the role extensive experience in policy research and higher education leadership.

His appointment marks a new chapter in ISSER’s continued commitment to research excellence, policy relevance, and institutional growth.
