Prof. Samuel Dartey-Baah

The University Council of Central University has appointed Professor Samuel Kwasi Dartey-Baah as the new Vice Chancellor, with his tenure set to begin on September 1, 2025.

The appointment was made during the Council’s 35th meeting, in accordance with Section 16 of the university’s 2023 Statutes. Prof. Dartey-Baah will succeed the outgoing Vice Chancellor, Professor Bill Buenar Puplampu.

Prof. Dartey-Baah is a distinguished academic and an expert in leadership and organizational development. He brings extensive experience from both academia and consultancy.

He holds three doctoral degrees in leadership, human resource development, and business management—from institutions in the United States, the United Kingdom, and South Africa, respectively.

Currently, he serves as the Director of Institutional Advancement at the University of Ghana and has twice chaired the Department of Organisation and Human Resource Management at the University of Ghana Business School.

Nationally, he has chaired the Strategic Planning Committee of the Ghana Institution of Engineering and served on the Grievance and Review Committee of the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission.

Renowned for his contributions to leadership studies, Prof. Dartey-Baah is the originator of the “Transfor-sactional Leadership Theory” and has authored over 70 scholarly publications. His work on leadership and organizational resilience has received international recognition.
