Police Inspector confesses to murdering young lady over GHC 5k debt

Inspector Ahmed Twumasi, the suspect behind the death of Victoria Dapaa Popularly known as Maadwoa has confessed that he murdered the victim over GHC 5000 debt that she owed him.

His confession was contained in a document read in open court on Tuesday, April 25th 2023. The suspect appeared for the first time at the Asokore Mampong District Court in the Ashanti Region after his arrest. He is currently facing charges of murder.

Reports indicate that many residents thronged the premises of the court to catch a glimpse of the suspect. Police had to call for reinforcement before the suspect was escorted from the court premises.

It was also revealed in open court that Inspector Twumasi used a service pistol to commit the crime. When given the opportunity to make his statement/ the Inspector stated he had no intention of committing the crime.

“I had no intention of committing the crime. What happened is between me and God.”

Inspector Twumasi has since been remanded into police custody to reappear in court on May 30, 2023.

The victim Victoria Dapaa Popularly known as Maadwoa was killed by Police Inspector Ahmed Twumasi on the 20th of April 2023.

She sustained multiple gunshots on her body after being discovered. She was then rushed to the hospital where she was pronounced dead by doctors.

After further investigations, police arrested Inspestor Twumasi at Sekyere, near Effiduase in the Ashanti region.

He was then taken into custody to appear before court, where he confessed to his crimes.
