In an engagement with Univers News, Lawyer Amaliba shared insights into the issue, underscoring the offenses of the criminals in questions as well as the consequences of their actions. According to him, the false claim has the possibility of instilling fear in the public and an assault on innocent individuals.

“I could see assaults on innocent individuals whom the perpetrators accused of causing the shrinkage of their genitals. Additionally, it is incumbent upon the state to demonstrate that the false claims made by the accused instigated fear and panic within the public sphere as the statement depicts.”

He also emphasized the potential legal repercussions that the perpetrators might encounter if they admit guilt.

“This falls under the category of a misdemeanor, which means they could potentially face a three to five-year prison sentence as it is not classified as a first – or second-degree offense.”

Meanwhile, the Police service has announced that five of the culprits would be facing a court trial, with three being detained in police custody and two being granted bail. The public has been warned from involving in claims suggesting missing genitals that could cause harm to innocent people and incite panic among the public.
