The Black Queens of Ghana touched down in Ndola, Zambia earlier today, ahead of their crunch second leg tie with the Copper Queens of Zambia in the Paris 2024 Olympic qualifiers.

Ghana lost by a solitary goal from Racheal Kundananji as Zambia took the advantage back home after effectively executing their game plan to perfection, leaving Ghana on the brink of elimination.

The Black Queens face the prospect of being kicked out of the qualifiers, after recording their second defeat under the tenure of Swiz gaffer Nora Hauptle.

The team wasted no time in making efforts to rectify and state a claim in wanting to participate at the Olympics by immediately emplaning to Zambia, right after the defeat .

Ghana last participated in the Olympic Games in 2004, when the black meteors represented the country. Hauptle and her charges will look to make a similar impact, and having landed in Zambia 4 days to the return leg adds gloss to the team’s determination.

The game is scheduled for February 28,2024, with the winner of the tie set to face either of Morocco or Tunisia in the final  qualifying round to book a ticket to the summer’s Olympic Games.
