The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has stressed its resolve to thoroughly probe all scandals that happened under the Akufo-Addo-led government.

According to the party, this is necessary to ensure that there is accountability for every action taken by the current administration and “recover all the loots.”

At the second edition of the Sectoral Briefing on the NDC Manifesto on Tuesday, September 3, the Member of Parliament (MP) for North Tongu, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, said this is part of the party’s ambition to eradicate corruption.

“[We will] Launch inquiries into the numerous scandals that have rocked the nation under the corrupt Akufo-Addo/Bawumia/NPP government. These inquiries shall include investigations into Ghana’s COVID-19 management and expenditures and the SML, ‘Agyapa’, Maths Sets, PDS, Sky Train, Pwalugu Dam, ‘Appearance Fees’, Ambulance Spare Parts scandals, illegal sole-sourced contracts scandals, among others,” he listed.

Mr. Ablakwa further noted that “state capture and looted lands” will be investigated as well across the country. He alleged that government officials have been selling state lands among themselves at cheaper prices, denying the public any opportunity to competitively show interest in such properties.

The North Tongu Legislator has been on a drive to expose politically exposed persons across the aisle allegedly buying or benefiting improperly from state assets and lands which has drawn the ire of the public on such revelations.
