The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has officially notified the leadership of Ghana’s 9th Parliament about the selection of its Majority Caucus.

The letter, signed by the NDC General Secretary Hon. Fifi Flavi Kwetey, states that following extensive deliberations by the party’s National Executive Committee and in consultation with the NDC Majority Caucus, the following members have been designated to leadership positions on the Majority Front Bench:

1. Majority Leader: Hon. Mahama Ayariga, MP for Bawku Central

2. Deputy Majority Leader: Hon. George Kweku Ricketts-Hagan, MP for Cape Coast South

3. Majority Chief Whip: Hon. Rockson-Nelson Kwami Etse Dafeamekpor, MP for South Dayi

4. First Deputy Majority Whip: Hon. Comfort Doyoe Cudjoe, MP for Ada

5. Second Deputy Majority Whip: Hon. Richard Acheampong, MP for Bia East

The letter notes that the NDC, in consultation with its Majority Caucus in Parliament, has complied with all legal processes that underpin such nominations.

The party has requested the Speaker to take the necessary steps to formalize these appointments in line with the established practices of the House.

This announcement comes as the NDC seeks to solidify its leadership in Ghana’s 9th Parliament, where it holds the majority of seats.
