President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kurt Okraku, has denied allegations that his outfit are involved in player selection for our various national teams.
In recent times, the GFA have been accused of interfering in the management of the national teams which has led to their struggles.
However, Okraku has dismissed allegations of interference from the Football Association, stating that the autonomy given to Otto Addo is the reason he decided to return as head coach of the Black Stars.
“Coach Addo has had said on platforms that one of the key reasons he accepted to come back is the fact that he is allowed to do the work the way he wants to work,” he told Parliament’s Sports Select Committee sitting on Monday, September 30.
“Players representing Ghana are solely selected by the technical team of our national teams — where it’s the Black Queens or the Black Stars.”
During the engagement with the Parliamentary Select Committee on Sports, Prosper Harrison Addo disclosed that Ghana Premier League referees are paid GHS1,100 per game.
