Technical director of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Bernard Lippert has taken a swipe at Ghanaians for consistently criticizing the football association instead of suggesting solutions to problems the GFA is grappling with.

The National Football Philosophy lauched on Wednesday, July 12, 2023 is touted as the brainchild of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) and the handiwork of the technical directorate of the GFA that identifies how we play, the contemporary trends in football, the positves and negatives  and a well structured strategic plan to be implemented to harness our game.

In attendance was Chairman of the Parliamentary Select Committee on Youth, Sports and Culture Hon. Kwaku Agyenim Boateng,  member of parliament for Akwatia, Hon. Boakye Yiadom, Member of parliament for Subin, Hon. Eugene Boakye Antwi and a host of other MPs.

Also in attendance was former black stars players which includes, John Paintsil, Richard Kingston, Tony Baffoe, Laryea Kingston, assistant coach of the black stars Mas-Ud-Didi Dramani and Ex assistant coach Maxwell Konadu.

Technical Director of the GFA, Bernard Lippert rebuked Ghanaians for their incessant critics of the Football Association and advised all stakeholders to come on board to suggest solutions to the dwindling nature of our football.

“One of the biggest challenges, especially for our GFA is a lot of negativity here in the country. I will plead all stakeholders to implement such a thing like this to help each other to be positive maybe as people, there is too much negativity, everybody talks about football, give solutions, be positive, work together, sports ministry, our GFA,we have to come close and together to get these things done,” Lippert remarked.

Assistant Coach of the Black Stars Mas-Ud Didi Dramani said the introduction of the Football Philosophy is an intentional effort to change the narrative of how football is run in the country.

“An antecedence of what various countries did over the years, they accepted that there is a new way of life, they accepted the need to do something deliberate, they need to be very consistent and they need to be very patient. In Africa what we are lacking is that we are talking but we are not being deliberate, we need to be deliberate and today is the beginning of how to become very deliberate.  We need to do something very different and that is the deliberation. It tells you that you need to begin to see something and you need to be aligned with it, everyone around the industry need to be aligned with it. Administrators, stakehoders and all the stakeholders you can talk about” Didi Dramani disclosed

Mr Bernard Lippert stressed on the need for a holistic approach by all stakeholders for this concept to come to fruition. It took the technical directorate of GFA two years to draft and unveil the National Football Philosophy.

This forms part of numerous initaives being rolled out by the Kurt Okraku led GFA administration to revitalize Ghana football and overcome the challenges its facing to ensure our football thrives.
