The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has announced the formation of a new Management Committee for Black Stars. This Committee is tasked with overseeing the administrative and logistical operations of the team.
Dr. Randy Abbey, an Executive Council member of the GFA, will chair the Committee. In addition to leading the Committee, Dr. Abbey will spearhead engagements with the Government and other key stakeholders.
Former Black Stars captain Stephen Appiah has been appointed as Vice-Chairman, where he will support Dr. Abbey and focus on Player Relations.
The Committee also includes Samuel Aboabire, Chairman of the Greater Accra Regional Football Association and another Executive Council member of the GFA, along with Moses Armah, President of Medeama Sporting Club. Aboabire and Armah will oversee Operations and Matchday activities, ensuring that the interests of Sponsors, Partners, and other Collaborators are well managed. Richard Nsenkyire, President of FC Samartex 1996, the champions of the 2023/2024 Ghana Premier League, will serve as a member responsible for Special Duties.
The Black Stars Management Committee’s responsibilities will encompass effective management and the establishment of a strategic plan for the team. They will act as a liaison between the Technical Team and the GFA, ensuring adequate camping arrangements, providing logistical support, and conducting regular visits to the team in training camps. In collaboration with the Head Coach and Technical team, the Committee will prepare and ensure adherence to Activity Schedules for all matches and tournaments.
Furthermore, the Committee will follow up on the release of funds for team operations from the Ministry Sports and Recreation. They will ensure optimal travel arrangements and that team members conduct themselves in a manner befitting Ambassadors of Ghana.
Additionally, the Management Committee will implement appropriate policies and procedures for the effective management and support of both the players and officials, fostering a cordial relationship between the Committee, the Technical team, and the players.
