Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah set for Anfield exit after the 25/26 season

Mohamed Salah is set to leave Liverpool FC at the end of the 2025–26 season, bringing an end to a remarkable nine-year spell at Anfield.

The announcement, made with just weeks left in the season, has sent shockwaves across the Premier League, as the Egyptian forward prepares to depart as one of the greatest players in the club’s history.

Since joining Liverpool in 2017 under Jürgen Klopp, Salah has been central to one of the most successful eras in the club’s modern history, helping the Reds secure multiple domestic and international titles.

He played a key role in Liverpool’s UEFA Champions League triumph in the 2018–19 season, scoring in the final against Tottenham Hotspur. A year later, he was instrumental in ending the club’s 30-year league title drought, contributing 19 goals and 10 assists as Liverpool lifted the Premier League trophy in the 2019–20 season.

Salah’s impact remained consistent throughout his time at the club, including a standout 2024–25 campaign where he recorded 29 goals and 18 assists—one of the most dominant individual seasons in Premier League history.

During his time at Anfield, Salah won every major trophy available, including two Premier League titles, the FA Cup, two Carabao Cups, the UEFA Super Cup, and the FIFA Club World Cup.

Individually, he established himself among the elite, winning the Premier League Golden Boot four times and being named PFA Player of the Year on three occasions.

Across nine seasons, Salah made 435 appearances for Liverpool, registering 255 goals and 118 assists—cementing his legacy as one of the club’s all-time greats.

In a farewell message, the Egyptian forward expressed gratitude to the club and its supporters.

“Leaving is never easy. You gave me the best time of my life. I will always be one of you. This club will always be my home, because of all of you, I will never walk alone,” he said.

Salah’s departure marks the end of an era for Liverpool, with the club set to lose one of its most influential and iconic players of the modern game.
