The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) emerged as the overall winner of the maiden edition of the National Universities Climate Debate, organized by ECO-Africa on Saturday, October 25, 2025.

The team, represented by Desmond Dorvlo and Prosper Michael Atemu, showcased exceptional knowledge on climate-related issues to claim the top spot.

KNUST advanced to the finals after securing victories over Ashesi University, Academic City University College, and Central University in the preliminary rounds.

The grand finale proved highly competitive as KNUST faced off against the University of Ghana, the University of Health and Allied Sciences (UHAS), and the University for Development Studies (UDS).

Despite the fierce contest, KNUST triumphed to be crowned the overall winner of the national competition.
