The speaker for this year’s Aggrey-Fraser-Guggisberg Memorial Lecture Series, Josephine Anan-Ankomah, has outlined the key themes of her presentation.
The 2025 edition of the lecture series is scheduled for March 13 and 14 at the Great Hall of the University of Ghana.
Speaking on Campus Exclusive ahead of the event, Josephine revealed that her lecture, titled “Her Money, Her Power: Making Finance Work for Women,” will explore two different aspects of the topic on each day.
On Day 1, she will focus on exposing the barriers that prevent women from accessing financial resources and opportunities. On Day 2, she will shift attention to practical solutions, discussing what financial institutions, policymakers, fintech companies, and investors must do to drive real financial inclusion for women.
“I’ll be speaking on ‘Her Money, Her Power: Making Finance Work for Women.’ On Day 1, we will examine the challenges and gaps that hinder women’s financial empowerment. Then, on Day 2, we will move beyond these obstacles and explore concrete solutions—looking at the role of financial institutions, policymakers, fintechs, and investors in ensuring financial inclusion is more than just a buzzword.”
Josephine Anan-Ankomah is a highly accomplished Ghanaian banker with more than 30 years of experience in the financial industry. She currently holds the position of Regional Executive for Central, Eastern, and Southern Africa (CESA) and serves as the Managing Director of Ecobank Kenya, where she oversees banking operations across 18 countries.
