Ghanaian twitter influencer, Quophie Promise, has expressed fear over threats by popular Ghanaian musician Kwesi Arthur following a social media post berating his recent performance in the USA.
Kwesi Arthur’s performance was a feature of Davido’s AWAY festival at the State Arena In USA; he was among the few Ghanaian artistes that were selected to perform alongside the Nigerian crooner at the jamboree that took place on 18th November, 2023. The artiste has been best known for hits like ‘African Girl’, ‘Grind Day’ and ‘Wo’ara’.
Bringing their remarks over the performance, Ghanaian social media influencers, which included the earlier mentioned Quophie Promise, expressed dissatisfaction with his display, describing it as poor and mediocre.
On X, the young influencer quoted Kwesi Arthur’s reply to the backlashes he received saying,
“No! You’re depressed. Hommie Flee said it. What kind of lifestyle is this? Don’t you respect your fans? You fell off and the same boys that praised you when you were up there are the same people telling you to double your steps and see the nonsense you tweet.”
In response, the hip-hop star, Kwesi Arthur sent a private message to the influencer, cautioning him with the statement,
“You don’t want to be found boy! Don’t play…”.
Speaking to Univers Entertainment in a live studio session, Quophie Promise explained how the development prompted him to tag the Ghana Police Service on X.
“When I saw it, I was very afraid; I was scared to be honest. Yes so that is why I tagged the Ghana Police service on twitter…” he narrated.
According to Quophie, fear had grappled him upon perception of the message; seeking redress over the issue had then become a priority for him to feel safe eventually.
On the sideline, Quophie Promise also spoke on a viral X video of popular DWP dancers, Afronita and Champion Rollie in a romantic scene. According to Quophie, the video was posted by Champion Rollie upon hearing the former disclose to the media of his crush on Afronita; Quophie explained that the video was recorded in order to make him jealous.
“Afronita is one particular girl I like in DWP because of her body gestures and how she puts herself out there… So they were dragging them for the video they posted … [it was speculated] that it was because of me that they posted the video just because I said I was crushing on Afronita and my story with Kwesi Arthur is also trending…“ he said.
