Hasaacas Ladies have failed to secure qualification for the 2024 CAF Women’s Champions League despite winning their last group game.

The Ghanaian champions, Hasaacas, walloped Niger’s AS Garde National 6-1 in their final Group B game on Saturday afternoon.

The Takoradi-based side needed to secure a six-goal margin to surpass Omnisports Etincelle, a burkinabé side they drew goalless with in their first group game.

The results mean that both teams finished with four points, with Omnisports advancing to the semifinals due to a superior goal difference

Fatoumata Tamboura broke the deadlock after 20 minutes. Grace Animah and Comfort Owusu quickly added two more goals, making it 3-0.

As Garde pulled one back before halftime, Hasaacas Ladies remained in control.

After the break, Owusu scored her second goal of the match, restoring Hasaacas’ three-goal lead. Despite creating several opportunities, the Ghanaian side struggled to extend their advantage further.

In stoppage time, Animah and Abigail Sakyiwaa each netted to bring the final score to 6-1, but it wasn’t enough to secure a place in the next round.

Now that they have missed out on a return to the CAF Women’s Champions League, Hasaacas Ladies will concentrate on domestic events.
