Hasaacas Ladies and Ampem Darkoa Ladies, two powerhouses of Ghanaian women’s football, are set to clash once again in the Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League final.
The game will be a rematch of last season’s final, where Ampem Darkoa Ladies triumphed over their fiercest rivals, securing the championship and earning the right to represent Ghana in the 2023/24 CAF Women’s Champions League.
After playing 18 games in this season’s Malta Guinness women’s premier League, Hasaacas Ladies emerged champions of the Southern Zone with 39 points, a 6-point difference between the club and second-placed Faith Ladies Football Club.
In the Northern Zone, Ampem Darkoa Ladies once again dominated the competition, amassing 34 points from 18 games. They narrowly clinched the zone championship, finishing just three points ahead of the runners-up, Northern Ladies, who ended the season with 31 points.
The highly anticipated final will be held at the University of Ghana Stadium on June 8, with the winner earning the chance to represent Ghana at the WAFU Zone B CAF Women’s Champions League Qualifiers in August.
Meanwhile, Essiam Socrates and Sea Lions have been relegated from the Southern Zone while Pearlpia and Ashtown Ladies face relegation in the Northern Zone as well.
