Coach Samuel Boadu’s tactical display propelled Berekum Chelsea to triumph 2-1 over Kumasi Asante Kotoko in the Ghana Premier League Matchday 30 clash at the Golden City Park on Saturday afternoon.

Before this match, Berekum Chelsea had endured two consecutive Ghana Premier League defeats, falling to Legon Cities and Accra Hearts of Oak.

Meanwhile, Kotoko were enjoying a three-game undefeated run, securing wins against Samartex and Legon Cities, along with a draw against Medeama Sporting Club.

Steven Mukwala Dese, the Ugandan import, opened the scoring for Asante Kotoko with a remarkable header in the 15th minute, bringing his season goal tally to 12 for the Porcupine Warriors. As Kotoko’s top scorer, he was inching closer to the top spot on the Ghana Premier League Goalscorers chart when Stephen Amakona scored to make it 1-1 in the 41st minute, just four minutes before the first-half whistle.

The second half was filled with more excitement than the first, as both teams squandered excellent chances to take the lead. However, in the 90+5 minute, Mizack Afriyie’s header secured the victory for coach Samuel Boadu and his team.
