The Ghanaian government has advised Ghanaians not to travel to China as Covid-19 cases have increased in the country. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration in a travel advisory, indicated that only necessary trips should be made until further notice.
The Foreign Affairs Ministry also stated that beginning Friday, January 6, all persons traveling from China to Ghana will be required to produce a 48-hour negative PCR test and will be subjected to mandatory antigen testing at a point of entry at no cost until further notice.
Covid-19 cases have increased rapidly in China in recent months, following the country’s relaxation of Covid rules. The Ghana Health Service has therefore advised citizens to avail themselves to vaccination schemes available at various health centers in Ghana.
Meanwhile, Director General of the Ghana Health Service, Dr. Patrick Kumah Aboagye has revealed that mass vaccination exercises will be rolled- out during the month to combat spread.
