The National School Feeding Programme Secretariat has cancelled all existing contracts with caterers nationwide meant for public schools.

In a press release dated May 2, the School Feeding Secretariat instructed all caterers under the existing arrangements not to cook for their respective assigned schools for the third term under the 2024/2025 Academic year.

“All contracts have been stoped with immediate effect and no caterers are to provide their services for the third term of the school calendar”.

The Secretariat further intimated in the release, that the government in due course will settle all outstanding payments owed the caterers for services provided in the second term.

“This new directive is intended for all stakeholders  to take stock with the government on how to restructure the Programme for effective performance and delivery in the coming days”.

The School Feeding Programme is a flagship government policy designed to provide healthy meals for all students in public basic schools across the country and has been in existence since 2005 during the John Agyekum Kuffour presidency.
