Born Leonard Amankwa Attah, the Western North native is quickly becoming a household name in Ghana’s drill music circles. Known by his stage name Leo Snow, the 21-year-old currently balances his music career with academic life as a second-year Information Systems student at Ghana Telecom University.
His recent single, Shake, has amassed jaw-dropping engagement on TikTok including 3.5 million views on one video, 1.5 million on another and thousands more across related content.
Speaking to Kvng Kelly on At The DJ’s Mercy last Friday, 5th May, 2025, he recounted:
“I’ve been on TikTok for a very long time. The content I used to promote Shake was not different from what I’ve done for my other songs, but the attention is overwhelming. All credit goes to God because I believe that when it’s the right time, God will make it happen. This is an elevation.”
Leo Snow classifies his sound as Jersey Drill, a genre rapidly gaining traction globally. He compares his sound to Ghanaian rapper Joey B’s recent releases like Princess and Suzzie Williams, which also flirt with the drill genre.
Despite his newfound fame, Leo remains grounded. He attributes his creative process to what he was influenced by growing up:
“It is what you are influenced by. What I grew up listening to is what influenced my style of music.”
He also revealed that a remix of Shake is in the works, featuring a UK-based artist and a popular Ghanaian TikTok sensation he teasingly referred to as “Borley.”
With more people offering support in both cash and kind, Leo Snow believes this is just the beginning. And as far as his plans go, he says:
“If I blow, I’m going to stay consistent.”
