Ghana to participate in 2023 tour du Faso event

The Ghana Cycling Federation has announced the participation of Ghana’s Cycling team, the Golden Pedals, at the Upcoming Tour du Faso event in Burkina Faso.

The Tour du Faso is a 10-day road bicycle racing stage race which will be held in Burkina Faso. The race is organised by the Amaury Sport Organisation, which also organises the Tour de France; the race has been part of the Union Cycliste Internationale since 2005.

The 34th edition of Africa’s most exciting cycling event will take place from the 26th October to 5th November 2023 where 11 countries including Mali, Cote D’Ivoire, Algeria, Belgium, South Africa, France, Germany, Egypt, Senegal have confirmed their participation.

Ghana will be represented by six cyclists namely Ebenezer Frank Tetteh Quaye from (All-stars Club), Foster Doevi from (Gladiators Club), Emmanuel Sesi from (Royal Club), Emmanuel Sharmah from (Young Stars), Solomon Tagoe from (Gutten Club) and Michael Naaba from (FCG club). These cyclists among others will tour seven regions in Burkina Faso at a distance of 1207.8 kilometers.

The competition will host over 70 cyclists around the world; it will also be used for preprations ahead of the All African games to be held in Accra Ghana 2024.

Currently, German cyclist, Daniel Bichimann from Maloja Pushbikers Cycling team is the recipient of the winning title the previous edition in 2021.
