President of the Ghana Football Association president Kurt E.S Okraku has asserted that the just-ended league season is an indication of Ghana Football’s growth.

His comment follows Medeama’s emergence as league champions for this season of the Ghana Premier League (GPL), claiming their first-ever league title through a 3-0 victory. The Mauve and Yellows required at least a point in their final match of the season but they claimed all 3 points by recording a resounding victory over Tamale Cities FC.

Kurt Okraku believes that the just-ended season is a testament to Ghana Football’s rising following the excitement of the GPL games this season.

“Today, we have given a firm statement that we have the passion for our sports. We have the love for our GPL and our GPL is alive. It is important all of us trust the process and believe in the process. What we have seen this season has been an amazing journey, a season that enabled all of us to enjoy football at the highest level of quality and on the final day everybody sat on tenterhooks until the last minutes of our game. Ghana football is alive!”

Mr Okraku praised Medeama SC’s performance, as he reflected on their competitiveness this season. According to him, the club’s performance was proof that they deserved the title.

”Over the entire duration of the competition, Medeama SC stood tall. They were very competitive, and the fans stacked by the teams, and what we have seen today is a testament to the endurance, belief and trust in their team. I will say congratulations to every member of the family, they deserve it”.

The 2022/23 Betpawa premier league season has officially come to an end with Medeama SC being crowned champions. The final of the MTN FA Cup will close the 2022/23 season on Sunday, June 18.
