The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has restated its commitment to introducing Video Assistant Referee (VAR) technology into Ghanaian football, providing an update on preparations during a post-congress press conference at the Ghanaman Centre of Excellence in Prampram.
GFA President Kurt Okraku noted that the partnership with ADESA Productions, first announced on Thursday, 31st July 2025, will ensure high-quality TV production, a crucial requirement for VAR implementation.
“We have crossed the last line of implementing this strategy. Even though the strategy is capital intensive, the FA is extremely committed to investing the needed funding into this project, and very soon, we will have a VAR strategy in place,” he said.
The VAR initiative is being funded jointly by the FA and ADESA Productions, with full government backing to create a conducive environment for private sector investment in football.
