Afrobeats singer GodsNation opened up about a shocking twist of fate that saved him from the dark path of money rituals and led him toward faith.

Speaking on Campex Showbiz on March 21, 2025, the artist, known for his energetic performances and lyrical depth, stunned listeners as he recounted the chilling moment when an unexpected force altered the course of his life forever.

Reflecting on his past, GodsNation revealed that he and his crew had once set their sights on a place notorious for offering spiritual wealth through ritual practices. Whispers of the location’s supposed power had spread like wildfire, promising instant riches to those willing to pay the price. Desperation and ambition led them there, convinced that this was the answer to their financial struggles.

“We were ready to go all in… it was around Suhum somewhere…” he admitted, his tone laced with the weight of past decisions.

But just as they arrived, something he could not explain happened.

“The name ‘Jesus’ just started running through my head,” he recounted, still sounding bewildered by the memory. “I was confused. I wasn’t there for a sermon—I was there for money,” he narrated.

It was a thought he could not shake off, no matter how much he tried. The more he ignored it, the stronger it became, clouding his mind with an unrelenting presence. It was as though something—or someone—was fighting for his soul in that very moment.

That eerie yet profound experience became a defining moment in his life. The lure of easy money suddenly felt hollow, and the sense of urgency to leave overwhelmed him. Looking back, he sees it as a divine intervention, a sign that he was being pulled away from destruction. GodsNation, once entangled in the grip of drug use and reckless living, began questioning everything he once believed.

“I used to do drugs,” he admitted candidly. “But that’s in the past. Finding God changed everything for me.” His transformation was not instant, but with each passing day, he found himself letting go of his old ways and embracing a renewed sense of purpose.

His personal journey has not only reshaped his life but also his perspective on music. Now, he feels an even deeper responsibility as an artist to use his platform for something meaningful. One of the issues he feels strongly about is the unfair criticism gospel musicians face when they sing about love.

“Gospel musicians should be the best at singing about love. Their spiritual foundation gives them an edge, but people criticize them when they do love songs. That’s not right—respect what they do.” he asserted passionately.

To him, love is a core element of faith, and he believes that limiting gospel artists to strictly religious themes is a disservice to their talent and message.

From standing at the edge of a life-altering mistake to finding salvation, GodsNation’s story is a remarkable testimony of redemption. Now, he channels his journey into his music, using his lyrics to reflect his transformation and inspire others. His life is proof that no matter how far gone someone may feel, there is always a path back to light.
