Eco-Africa Network has marked its 6th anniversary, celebrating six years of unwavering commitment to environmental sustainability, climate action, and community empowerment across Ghana and the rest of Africa.

Since its founding in 2019, Eco-Africa Network has grown into a leading voice for sustainable development, championing projects that address urgent environmental challenges while empowering local communities.

Over the years, the organisation has successfully spearheaded initiatives such as:

Climate Change Awareness: Hosting dozens of workshops, school campaigns, and digital programmes to educate thousands of young people on climate change and sustainable practices.

A year after its founding, the organisation launched its first Waste Management Project in Jamestown, focusing on plastic collection and segregation. This initiative became a turning point, engaging over 100 locals through training sessions. It also paved the way for the Network’s first Waste Management Conference, held on July 23, 2021, which featured key speakers and drew over 100 participants — solidifying Eco-Africa’s reputation as a leading climate-focused NGO.

One of Eco-Africa Network’s biggest milestones this year was its Climate Justice Conference, which brought together experts, activists, and youth leaders from across the continent. Distinguished participants included the Minister of State for Climate and Sustainability, Mr. Issifu Salifu; former Second Lady of Ghana, Mrs. Samira Bawumia; and the President of the ECOWAS Court, Justice Edward Amoako Asante. Speakers at the event stressed the importance of Africa taking a central role in global climate negotiations, calling for stronger advocacy and action on climate justice.

The organisation continues to collaborate with key partners to drive climate action. Its most recent initiative was a tree-planting and climate sensitisation exercise at Hohoe EP Senior High School, where over 500 seedlings were planted to commemorate World Environment Day 2025. This was done in partnership with Mayekoo, the Rawlings Foundation, Ahaban, and others.

Additionally, Eco-Africa Network organised a farmer training program in Suhum, in the Eastern Region, to raise awareness about climate change and its wide-ranging effects on agriculture and human well-being, in collaboration with Akofresh.

Its bi-monthly X Space serves as a digital forum that brings together diverse stakeholders and experts to educate the public on climate change and discuss actionable solutions to mitigate its impact.

Looking ahead, Eco-Africa Network is focusing on expanding its impact through digital innovation, cross-border partnerships, and large-scale sustainability campaigns that aim to inspire millions across Africa to take climate action.

Eco-Africa Network is a youth-led climate organisation dedicated to building a greener, more sustainable continent through advocacy, education, and grassroots action. Its mission is to empower communities, inspire policy change, and create innovative solutions for Africa’s most pressing environmental challenges.
