Eco-Africa Network, in collaboration with University of Ghana Student Representative Council is set organize it’s inaugural National Youth Climate and Energy Conference.
Scheduled for July 24, 2024, at the Cedi Conference Center of the University of Ghana, this event aims to bring together students from various academic backgrounds to emphasize the importance of youth leadership in climate discussions.
The conference, themed “Climate Change and Energy Sustainability: Youth in Focus,” will address three main objectives: repositioning youth in climate and energy discussions, empowering young entrepreneurs, and assessing Ghana’s climate and energy status.
The event is expected to draw an audience of 2,000, including junior high and senior high students, university students, representatives from climate and energy companies, government officials, NGOs, climate activists, and the general public interested in climate and sustainability issues.
By the end of the conference, organizers hope to see increased awareness and engagement of young people in climate and energy issues, stronger collaboration between youth, businesses, and government in addressing climate challenges, and greater recognition and support for innovative youth-led climate initiatives.
