The Electoral Commission (EC) has reaffirmed its dedication to ensuring free and fair elections, emphasizing its established reputation for credibility and transparency in overseeing Ghana’s electoral process.

This reassurance comes in response to concerns raised by political parties and stakeholders ahead of the 2024 general elections.

Speaking at Inter-Party Advisory Committee (IPAC) meeting on Tuesday, October 1, EC Chairperson Jean Mensa underscored the Commission’s consistent adherence to democratic principles in past elections.

She highlighted that the EC has successfully managed several elections, earning the trust of both Ghanaians and the international community through its commitment to integrity.

“We have a proven track record of delivering credible elections, and we remain resolute in ensuring that the upcoming 2024 elections will be no different”

She further assured the public that the EC has put in place comprehensive measures to address any concerns related to the voter’s register and the election preparations.

The EC encouraged political parties and the public to continue working together with the Commission to guarantee a smooth and transparent electoral process.

Jean Mensa reiterated that the EC welcomes scrutiny and values constructive feedback, which she believes will only help strengthen Ghana’s democracy.
