Cole Palmer has set a new record in the English Premier League (EPL) by becoming the first player to score four goals before halftime.

The English youngster achieved this feat as Chelsea thrashed Brighton & Hove Albion 4-2 at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.

Brighton took the lead at Stamford Bridge, but Palmer leveled the score 15 minutes after Georginio Rutter’s opening goal.

The England international quickly added a second goal from the penalty spot before completing his hat-trick in just nine minutes and 48 seconds with a brilliant free kick.

Carlos Baleba responded for Brighton, but Palmer found the net again before the half ended, finishing off a pass from Jadon Sancho to cap off an extraordinary performance.

Maresca’s side now moves up to 3rd in the Premier League table with 14 points from 6 matches.
