The Black Queens of Ghana delivered a dominant display to thrash Russia 4-0 in their Matchday 2 fixture at the Pink Ladies Cup ongoing in the United Arab Emirates.

Ghana set the tone early and broke the deadlock in the 8th minute through Stella Nyamekye, who finished calmly to give her side a deserved lead.

Doris Boaduwaa extended the advantage in the 17th minute following a slick attacking move and grabbed her second in the 33rd minute to hand Ghana a commanding 3-0 lead at halftime.

Russia showed signs of improvement after the break but found it difficult to penetrate Ghana’s well-organised defence.

The Black Queens stayed compact while remaining dangerous on the counterattack.

Patience Ajegipena Zakaria wrapped up the emphatic victory in the 88th minute, sealing an impressive performance from the Queens.

The win sends Ghana top of the standings with two victories from two matches. They will wrap up their campaign against Tanzania on Friday, March 6, 2026, as part of preparations for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.

The win according to certain sect of fans speaks to the strength and development of the Women’s Premier League in Ghana as compared to the Ghana Premier League.
