Black Queens defender, Linda Eshun is certain of victory against their Guinean counterparts and that group is under no pressure ahead of their 2024 Olympic Games qualifiers.

Despite the Black Meteors’ failure to qualify for the Olympic games, Linda Eshun believes they can put smiles back on the face of Ghanaians by qualifying to the next Olympic Games.

Linda Eshun in an engagement with the media before the team’s departure expressed confidence in a win against Guinea and  believes the inability of the Black Meteors to qualify for the Paris Olympics will have no effect with regards to pressure on the Black Queens.

“I think we are very relaxed, and it is football so we don’t have to panic, we need to have the confidence to approach the game with ease and we will win the game. The U23 did well, this is football and anything happens in football. They did whatever they had to qualify but unfortunately, it didn’t go as planned. For the Black Queens, we are not under any pressure, this is football we all want to win so we will aim higher”Linda said

The stalwart defender further praised the head coach of the side Nora Hauptle for her good work since her appointment.

“‘The coach (Nora Hauptle) has taught us what we need to do and how we are going to play. I think Nora has brought in so many new things to the Black Queens. She has changed so many things and I think we are now been competitive, everyone is working hard everyone is fighting for a position. So I think that she has been very helpful to the team. We are yet to concede a goal which is perfect so I think we are doing well. We listen to the coach, watch videos and correct our mistakes. I think the Black Queens will go into the game to claim all the three maximum points,” She added.

The Black Queens have arrived in Conakry for the 1st leg on Friday, July 14, 2023, at Stade General Lansana Conte in Nongo, Conakry, before hosting the return leg in Accra.
