Head coach of Asante Kotoko Soccer Club, Dr. Prosper Nartey Ogum has held praises for his players’ performance and attitude on the pitch in their first game in the current BetPawa Premier League season.

The Porcupine Warriors, led by deputy captain George Mfeuge were held to a goalless draw by Kpando Heart of Lions on Sunday at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi, which also serves as their home grounds.

The “Wo kum apem a apem beba” boys had a very successful and intense preseason where they scouted and signed several new players but couldn’t find the scoresheet under floodlights.

Newly promoted side, Kpando Hearts of Lions’ man, Mustapha Yakubu scored off a rebound in the second half, but the assistant linesman 1 ruled out the goal . Several technical video analysis by journalists disputes the decision by the referees to rule out the goal.

Dr. Ogum expressed satisfaction with the display of his boys whilst also giving assurance that his team will come in good form in the upcoming matches.

“Yeah, I’m okay with it. I’m satisfied because we have a blend of new and old players trying to get the game model going….But then we can do better. It’s good, better, best. So, what I saw was good. I’m okay with it.”

In the last four league matches against the Goldfields boys, Kotoko have won two whiles drawing two.

The Kumasi based club, Asante Kotoko will face off 18th placed club, Bibiani Gold Stars in the premier league on Saturday, 23 September at 3pm.
