Bank of Ghana amends regulations on advance payments for imports

The Bank of Ghana has announced the amendment of regulations on advanced payment for import goods and services.

In a communique released on the 25th of June 2024, the Bank of Ghana indicated that it has amended regulations on advance payment for import goods and services, as part of its measures to clarify procedures governing advanced payments for imports effective, 1st July 2024.

It further enlisted details of the required documentation to effect advance payments, as well as the increase in maximum amount for payments from $USD 850,000.00 to $USD200,000.00 per transaction, per importer.
