Ghanaian singer and songwriter, Amaarae is set to make history as the first Ghanaian artiste to perform at the NPR (National Public Radio) Tiny Desk Concert on June 22, 2023.
She will be performing songs from her recently released album, “Fountain Baby” alongside Ghanaian-British music band, “Compozers”.

The NPR Tiny Desk Concerts is a video series of live concerts hosted by NPR Music, that invites musicians to perform live renditions of their music. The concert has seen appearances from Angelique Kidjo, Omah Lay, Tye Tribbett, The Mavericks, RM of BTS and a host of others.
Amaarae would become the first Ghanaian musician to make an appearance on the platform.
Known for her fusion of Pop, R&B, Afrobeat, and Alté music, the singer recently released her second album “Fountain Baby” which is available on all music platforms.
Songs from the album such as “Reckless” and “Wasted Yes” will be performed live by the singer at the concert.
Amaarae, whose maiden name is Ama Serwah Genfi, is a Ghanaian-American singer-songwriter known for international hits like “Sad Girlz Luv Money”, which was remixed with a feature from Colombian singer, Kali Uchis.
She is best known for her fluid representation of gender and sexuality in her music as well as her eye-catching fashion sense, which earned her some spots on Vogue’s lists.
