Black Stars Coach, Otto Addo remains hopeful and confident about Ghana’s prospects for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), stating that their journey is far from over.

Despite the team’s current challenges, Addo is encouraging and positive, emphasizing that it’s not too late to turn things around and make a strong comeback in the qualifying campaign.

The Black Stars picked up just one point from a possible four during the October international break.

“It’s not over yet,” Addo told the Ghana Football Association’s Media Team.
“Mathematically, there is still a chance and we will do everything which is in our hands to hold this chance alive.”

Ghana drew goalless in Accra before losing 2-0 to Sudan, which leaves them on the brink of missing out on a place in Morocco – third in their qualifying group, five points behind Sudan and ten points behind already-qualified Angola – Otto Addo remains resolute and confident, refusing to give up on their chances of qualifying for the Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.

“Anyone who has seen our home games against Nigeria, Angola, or Sudan knows the players have the talent. If we can stick to our strengths, play good football, and combine that with passion, we can move forward.”

Ghana’s chances of qualifying for the Africa Cup of Nations are slim, but to have any hope, they must win their final two games against Angola and Niger in November and rely on Sudan losing both of their remaining games, which is a highly unlikely scenario.

In essence, Ghana’s qualification fate is no longer in their own hands, and they need a combination of winning their games and Sudan suffering defeats to have a remote chance of making it to the tournament.
