The Minister for Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Abla Dzifa Gomashie, has paid a heartfelt tribute to the late former Station Manager of Radio Univers, Dr. Abubakari Sidick Ahmed (Alhaji), during the commissioning of the Ghana Tourism Development Company (GTDC) Campus Office at the University of Ghana.
Speaking to Univers News, the Minister reflected on her personal connection to Radio Univers, revealing that she had previously interned at the station and benefited from the mentorship of the late Dr. Ahmed.
“I used to intern there as well, and I’m sorry to hear about the loss of Baba, who mentored a lot of people,” she said. “And now you have the opportunity to also learn from there.”
Her remarks highlighted the significant role Dr. Abubakari Sidick Ahmed, affectionately known as “Alhaji,” played in mentoring young broadcasters and shaping careers within the University’s media space.
The commissioning ceremony of the GTDC Campus Office was held on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, at the Legon Hall Southern Gate of the University of Ghana.
