Ghana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA), Wilmar Africa, Ghana Armed Forces Officers Sports Club (GAFOSC) and National Petroleum Authority (NPA) have officially secured qualification to the semi-finals of the University of Ghana Corporate Football League after a dramatic Match Week 10 filled with goals, surprises and intense qualification battles.
The evening opened with University of Ghana recording a 2-0 victory over Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) in the highly anticipated tertiary derby. Both sides started cautiously before UG gradually took control of the contest, scoring midway through the first half before adding a second goal later in the game to secure all three points.
One of the headline fixtures of the night saw Ghana Football Association (GFA) take on Lancaster Accra FC in a match with major qualification implications. GFA entered the contest with the stronger chance of progressing, while Lancaster needed victory and favourable results elsewhere to keep their hopes alive.
The game produced several exciting moments, with Lancaster goalkeeper Abdul Rahim forced into a number of crucial saves before GFA eventually broke the deadlock through captain Joseph Tetteh Zutah, who curled home a brilliant free-kick late in the first half.
Lancaster responded immediately after the restart, with Michael Essuman scoring the equaliser just seconds into the second half. Both sides pushed for a winner in a tense closing period, but the game eventually ended 1-1.
At the UG Main Stadium, Ghana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) emphatically booked their place in the semi-finals with a dominant 4-0 victory over Bui Power Authority. The aviation side controlled possession throughout the game and pressed aggressively from the opening whistle.
Their dominance paid off with an early goal before adding a second prior to halftime. GCAA continued their impressive display in the second half, scoring two more goals to secure top spot in Group A.
GOIL PLC also cruised to a commanding 4-0 victory over Stanbic Bank. GOIL struck within seconds from a corner kick and continued to dominate proceedings, creating several opportunities before adding three more goals to complete an emphatic win.
At the Warm Up Pitch, Ghana Airports Company Limited recorded one of the biggest upsets of the evening with a narrow 1-0 victory over Union Ghana. Ghana Airports displayed discipline and resilience throughout the match to secure a memorable result.
Lebanese Sports Community and Wilmar Africa settled for a 1-1 draw in an entertaining contest, with both sides creating several opportunities but unable to find a late winner.
Forestry Commission ended their campaign on a positive note with a solid 2-0 victory over Zen FC after controlling large portions of the game.
BOST Energies also secured a hard-fought 1-0 win over National Communications Authority (NCA), who endured another difficult outing in the competition.
Meanwhile, Ghana Armed Forces Officers Sports Club (GAFOSC) confirmed qualification to the semi-finals with an impressive 3-0 victory over Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC). The Armed Forces side produced a composed and clinical display to comfortably secure their place in the last four.
At the end of Match Week 10, GCAA, Wilmar Africa, GAFOSC and NPA officially booked their places in the semi-finals of the competition.
The semi-final fixtures are now set, with Ghana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) taking on Wilmar Africa, while National Petroleum Authority (NPA) face Ghana Armed Forces Officers Sports Club (GAFOSC) on Friday, May 29, 2026, as the race for the Corporate Football League title intensifies.
