The University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA), is hosting the 9th Mini Ghana University Sports Association (GUSA) Games from May 5 to May 15, 2026.

The games are being held under the theme: “Integrating University Sports with Academic Professionalism.”

In a letter dated May 4, 2026, and signed by the PRO of GUSA, Mrs Emma Pimpong, it was stated that the main aim of the 9th edition of the games is to build on the successes chalked up by previous editions.

“The 9th Mini GUSA Games, being hosted by the Sports Directorate of the University of Professional Studies, Accra, from May 5 to May 15, is being organised on the back of the success of previous editions, which promoted keen competition and healthy rivalries among participating institutions,” the statement noted.

It further stated that 14 tertiary institutions will compete in the 2026 edition.

“This year, we have 14 participating tertiary institutions competing in a variety of sporting disciplines such as 3×3 basketball, athletics, football, table tennis, badminton, among others,” it added.

The Mini GUSA Games continue to serve as a strategic platform for nurturing talents from various universities who go on to represent the country at both regional and international levels. The games also promote healthy lifestyles, unity, youth engagement, and stronger networking among participating institutions.
