The 2025 Wear UG Day was a true celebration of the UG spirit and identity, filled with thought-provoking discussions, laughter, and inspiration

Some students at the University of Ghana have praised the 2025 Wear UG Day celebration as a vibrant display of talent and unity, describing it as more engaging than they had anticipated.

Held at the Cedi Conference Centre on October 15, 2025, this year’s edition impressed and excited many students who attended despite the ongoing vacation. The event also featured a panel discussion and a captivating runway showcase of outfits from contestants, highlighting creativity, culture, and school pride.

Speaking to Univers News, some students could not hide their excitement.

“I actually came here today with some expectations, and I can boldly say they were met. Contestants presented very impressive fashion designs—some inspired by international trends, others rooted in our local culture. I was highly impressed by the creativity on display,” one student said.

Another student shared similar sentiments, noting the impressive turnout despite the school break.

“I attended this programme without much expectation; I just wanted to have a feel of it, especially because school was on break. But to my surprise, the attendance was very impressive. There were dignitaries, directors, and staff present—it was really intriguing and very interesting,” the student said.

A third student highlighted both the educational and entertaining aspects of the event.

“Before coming, I didn’t really have expectations—I just wanted to see what Wear UG Day was about. But it turned out to be more than I imagined. The panelists shared amazing ideas, and I learned a lot. The fashion show was my favourite part—seeing staff in such creative costumes was beautiful. My favourite contestant was Baba; his traditional and local fashion sense really stood out,” the student added.

Concluding the event, Principal Library Assistant at the Biochemistry Department Library, Baba Hamidu, was adjudged the winner of the fashion show. His outfit was designed not only to represent fashion but also to reflect the royalty and power of a modern Dagbon king.
