The University of Ghana has held its annual Career Fair from June 11 to 12, 2025, giving students the chance to meet employers, explore career options, and prepare for life after school.

Over the two-day event, students interacted with companies from Ghana and abroad in sectors such as finance, technology, media, and education. A major highlight was a hands-on CV writing session, where students learnt how to craft strong, job-ready résumés.

A standout moment came during a breakout session where a short film was screened about young people in Kenya using artificial intelligence (AI) to improve farming. The documentary showed how they use AI tools to test soil quality, prevent pest attacks, and increase crop yields. Many students found it eye-opening and inspiring.

“It was exciting to see how young people in Kenya are using technology to solve real problems,” one student said. “It made me think we can do that here too.”

Beyond job opportunities, the fair encouraged students to think about how they could use technology and innovation to solve local problems. Sessions were held on tech entrepreneurship, ethical AI, and green innovation led by speakers from both academia and industry.

Speaking to Univers News, students shared ideas on how AI could be used to tackle challenges in Ghana, including sanitation, healthcare, and food security. Many left the event inspired, with plans to start small projects on campus.
